Forever!!!

So, what's worse than leaving your camera charger in another state?  How about losing your memory card?!?!  Don't ask me how but as soon as my dearest grandma got my charger to me in the mail, our memory card vanished.  I'm almost positive that our cat figured out how to eject it from our laptop and hide it.  Needless to say, life feels very boring not being able to document it.  Luckily my phone is helping me take pics, but I can't seem to get them onto my laptop.  I am trying my best to embrace my new saying through all of this, keep my head up, and say, "It's not the end of the World."  (Oh, and just in case you didn't know....periods go in front of quotation marks at ALL time.  Thank you to my professor for drilling that into every paper I have written this semester.  I won't let her down from now on!)

So, what has this lady been up to since the beginning of the month?  Well, things are busy as usual and can barely believe that April is coming to an end and May will be here in a blink of an eye.  I was able to find a couple pictures to some up all of our whereabouts, although it truly doesn't do life justice.

I got dolled up to celebrate birthdays and have fun with these lovely ladies!
Got a delightful pedicure with this fun lady:
Embraced my obsession with blogs and applied it to my hair style.  Yes, I did in fact watch a hair tutorial here.  Then, I tried it out the next day and loved it!  I'm bumping the high bun.
Went to the Padres game with these fun people.  We're trying to soak up as much time as possible since they will be moving next month! :(  Actually, Steven is moving first and Kylee will be our new roommate for two months.

Other April happenings:
  • Listening to Pandora's Adele station all day.
  • Babysitting the most adorable niece for a weekend.
  • Getting back into the work grind once spring break ended.
  • Getting pretty close to pulling an all-nighter to work on a case study for my master's.
  • Escaping to a cute restaurant on the beach for date night.
  • Celebrating Easter will the LaFuze family, along with visiting our home church.
  • Experimenting with gluten-free cake pops.
  • Planning bridal and wedding showers.
I feel like so much more has happened, but nothing comes close to how jam packed May is going to be.  This Sunday is another "mommy and me" date!  My mom will be out of town for Mother's Day so we are celebrating a weekend early and I am putting together a full day of festivities!  I promise to have a memory card before hand so I can officially document an amazing day!

Be Blessed!

It's Not the End...

of the World!!!

I was driving the other day when I heard that phrase and it was an amazingly uplifting experience.  At the same time, I was reminded of so many of my mother's little sayings.  I find that when I drive, she pops up in my mind too many times.  One time I was driving when I completely heard my mom says "It's an E.G.B.O.K".  (For those of you that don't speak "Becky" that stands for Everything's Going to Be OK.)  Another infamous one is "and this too shall pass".

Anyways, hearing "it's not the end of the world" was a simple reminder to me.  I find that I can easily get consumed with all of the little things.  The laundry isn't done, the dishes are still stacked in the sink, I have a paper to write, e-mails need to be sent to parents...the list could go on.  When I try to focus on the big picture in life, my faith, and realize that little bumps will come and then they go, I feel completely refreshed and at peace.

It's not the end of the world when...
my favorite pearl bracelet brakes at the copy machine.
the cat jumps on my freshly washed clothes, now leaving a nice nest of white cat hair.
all of our "to-go" coffee mugs are in the dishwasher so I'm short a cup of coffee.
the rain cancels a field trip.
my hopes of a good hour workout is shortened to 30 minutes due to a long staff meeting.
there's still a load of laundry sitting in the dryer begging to be folded.
my afternoon caffeine fix wears off by the time it's crunch time on a paper.

{we heart it}
(Disclosure: I left my camera charger in AZ two weeks ago and my dear grandma is shipping it to me this week.  Sadly, I'm on a search for some pictures to fill in.  No camera for two weeks is horrible!)

This little saying has brought me so much joy this week.  Spring break ended this past weekend and work was my new buddy this week.  I actually loved coming back to work!  The kids have been great, I am so thankful for my job, and I'm taking one day at a time and soaking in all of the little moments that make the small things disappear.

I pray that you see the hiccups and say "It's not the end of the world", that your week is filled with little joyful moments, and that a "Becky"ism rubs off on you!
{we heart it}
I just loved this beautiful picture!

For Hire!

Last weekend we kicked off our 2011 Wedding Extravaganzas by attending my cousin's wedding in Arizona.  We thought last year was rough with four weddings, but this year has it beat.  5 weddings!  Yes, and I am in 3 of them!  Anyways, my mom and I have become quite the experts on coordinating weddings and putting just the right finishing touches on them.  This one only added to our resume.  Seriously, after this wedding we were ready to open shop as wedding planners.

Here are a few snapshots from our weekend.  Enjoy!
Traditional "self-portraits" at the rehearsal.

The beautiful bride and her dad.

Who wouldn't want to hire us?!?!

"Say CHEESE!!!"...please don't judge the oily face, AZ weather did not agree with me.

We could finally relax once the reception got going...whew!

Sistas!!!  I guess being silly with the camera runs in the family.

So does dancing!  Grandma and Aunt Tonya getting down!

She always finds a way to have a baby in her arms.

Auntie Marcy teaching Daniel how to salsa.  He was a good sport!

Mother of the Bride and her favorite nephew.
