Saying Farewell

This week Daniel had to say good-bye to one friend and is getting to do the same with another :(

We had a blast at Stone Brewery with Steven and Kylee.  Steven left his past week for Reno where he is spending his summer interning at a law firm.  Their bro-mance will reunite in August though!  We enjoyed taking the tour of the brewery and learning all about the brew process, but the gardens and outside area are the best part.  If you have never been there, it is a must when in San Diego.
Last night was UDA's Spring Gala, our biggest fundraiser.  We had so much fun with all of the other teachers and parents.  Plus, my parents were so supportive and they came too.  This weekend is full of celebrations.  Tony, Daniel's old roommate from SDSU, graduated yesterday and so we went out to celebrate with everyone afterward.
We are going to miss you Tony!  The upside is that it gives us a reason to come up north and visit.  I have always wanted to take a trip to Napa Valley, so hopefully that can happen soon with a visit from Tony!  Congratulations Tony, Nicole, and Nick on graduating!

1.5

It dawned on me today that as of yesterday, Daniel and I have been married for one and a half years!  It has seemed to fly by, but we have accomplished so much in our time together since being married.
  • I finished my multiple subjects credential
  • Daniel graduated from SDSU!
  • I got my first teaching job
  • Daniel was promoted at Costco
  • I am almost done with my first year as a kindergarten teacher
And, we are ready to start a new adventure now.  I was just accepted into SDSU's graduate program.  When I'm done I will have my MA of Educ. in Reading and Language Arts as well as a reading specialist credential!  Here is to forever! Here are some pictures from our special day.

Much Too Long

I have allowed too much time to pass by since writing a new post.  However, this past month has been one of the hardest.  Working with kids brings me so much joy, but it also destroys my immune system.  I had a horrible cold/sinus infection that lasted three weeks and am finally beginning to feel better.  The worse was that it had be tired, irritated, anxious, and very not myself for the entire month. :(  My energy is finally back, and Daniel is excited to have his wife back!  We have been staying busy with work, and our schedules have been conflicting so our time together has been short.  This week we were able to go to our first Padres game of the season!
