Greetings from DC!

This will be a sneak peak of our trip so far.  It all started last night at 10:30pm when we flew from San Diego to Boston, then from Boston to Washington D.C.  We landed at 9:30 this morning, and managed to get a couple hours of sleep on the flight!  Then, we successfully maneuvered our way through D.C. using the transportation system getting us from Dulles Airport to Union Station where we met up with Nathan!
We dived right into touring our capitol with walking through the Supreme Court building.  Then, we walked over to the Capitol Building and took a tour, which made the statues and paintings much more meaningful and gave me a much greater appreciation for our nation's history.  We ended the day in Georgetown, which is absolutely adorable and magnificent at the same time.  The old architecture is phenomenal, and I am in awe every time we see a new building.  We were able to meet up with Daniel's cousin, Elizabeth, and her husband Chuck.  They introduced us to a true East Coast college pub, and then we toured through the University of Georgetown.  Here are just a couple pictures as a teaser....

Moore & Blanchard Wedding

Our "Summer of Weddings" continued this weekend up in Bakersflied with Cory and Bekah's wedding.  Daniel and Cory have been friends since 9th grade. We all went to church together, and I naturally feel like one of the guys when I am around him, Cory, and Sean.  We had a fun time with the guys, and tried our best to stay cool even though the temperature reached 109 yesterday!

Our drive up wasn't too bad, and we are getting used to so much driving with all of our weddings this summer.  Daniel is usually singing along in a crazy voice, and I chime in every now and then.  We rarely listen to the radio with Daniel's amazing singing abilities...oh, if only!  But, we did catch ourselves singing "She'll be coming around the mountain" while going up the grapevine.

While Daniel was fulfilling all of his "groomsmenly" (Yes, I made up the word) duties, I was able to visit some family and friends within the area.  My uncle, aunt, and cousins live in Bakersfield so Daniel and I went over Saturday morning to say hi.  Then, I went over to visit Jimmy & Michelle.  Jimmy was my youth leader growing up, I interned for him in college, and his wife has been an amazing mentor to me.  I absolutely love their family and was sad to see them leave San Diego last year.  It was so nice getting to see them and catch up, and I still can't believe how big their kids are getting!

The wedding was at the church and was great.  The only thing was a was flying solo since Daniel was in the wedding.  It did truly make me appreciate that my husband has a job here, and I always have a date and husband to go to places with.  It was a little uncomfortable sitting alone and not really knowing anyone, but I survived!  I LOVE going to weddings since we have been married.  It always reminds us how beautiful our wedding day was, and the sacredness of marriage.  It doesn't hurt that my husband is amazingly cute in a tux, so when he is in one it is even better!

The only thing is that we could really use a vacation from all our vacations.  I feel so overwhelmed when we come home from a trip and look at all of the cleaning and laundry I have to do before we leave again.  But, remembering how wonderful it is to experience these moments with friends makes it all worthwhile.  We leave again Tuesday night for D.C., so my cleaning has to happen very quickly.  Wish me luck!

Agin & Pittenger Wedding

This summer is "The Summer of Weddings" with three of our calendar.  Our first one was my dear friend, Alyssa's, up in San Luis Obispo.  We were excited to go back to SLO and visit the beautiful town I went to college in, and their wedding was at the Ventura residence which was exquisite.  She was a gorgeous bride, the wedding was beautiful, and seeing her fairytale wedding come true was so amazing.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

 

Rehearsal at the Ventura Residence.  They lived on top of a hill in Arroyo Grande and it had an amazing view, but was pretty windy.

Jessica and Scott, our wonderful friends we stayed with over the weekend. 

 

Emotions started early with the bride's mom giving her a handkerchief from when she was three.  The whole day was so emotional over the joy we had for Alyssa and Warren.

My face is so red because it was freezing! But once we started dancing we were warm and toasty.

 

Me, Nathan, and my husband.  Nathan has been our dearest friend and when him and Alyssa were in our wedding, they became close friends.  Then, she met Warren through Nathan and his roommates.  Their fairytale began...

 

Today was a beautiful brunch at the Agin's house.  I loved getting to see Alyssa marry Warren, their love for one another is beyond words.  And, it was like a little college reunion with such wonderful friends.  I am going to truly miss Sis when she moves to NC soon, but we're crossing our fingers that Warren will get stationed back in CA soon!
