I hope that your fourth of July weekend was just splendid! We enjoyed ours back in our small town, and made sure to take part in the fun and start making memories with Nathan. My parents were out of town so we were housesitting for them (which I love now that we have Nathan because there place is so much larger than ours and there's a pool). That meant we were up in good ol' Ramona for the fourth! Here are some things you need to know about Ramona....it is very small, they are probably the only place in San Diego County that still has a K-Mart, agriculture is a-booming there, it wouldn't surprise you to pass a camel or tractor walking down the street as you drive along, and everybody knows everybody!
The morning of the fourth we went to their annual parade, which was filled with horses, dancers, pageant queens, firefighters, and so much more. After the parade there is a big community party at the park. We decided to skip that to go swimming instead. Well, apparently swimming tuckered an unnamed baby out so much so that he fell asleep in the pool. Our dear friends Zack and Colleen came over to swim, and we had a blast. In the evening time we barbecued at my in-laws, get Nathan tucked into bed, and watched the fireworks from their front yard. It was so easy and simple, and just the way I like it. The fireworks are so nostalgic for me, and all I wanted was for my brother and sister to be standing beside me exclaiming which was their favorite. As a child, the smiley faces were always up there. This year I couldn't help but be hopeful that Nathan would be doing the same thing with more little LaFuzes in the years to come, and I can't wait to see what memories they make!
