You have to go check out these delicious pancakes we made the other day! I found this blog a couple of months ago and it is filled with easy, healthy, and delicious recipes. I made them yesterday morning and Daniel even liked them! (He is the picky eater!) I loved that there was no added sugar, and I happened to have fresh blueberries on hand so I used those instead of frozen ones. Go make them!!!

Oh, Hello Summer!
Summer is here! This is where my choice of becoming a teacher when I was a little girl pays off. The end of the school year was crazy, I still can't believe that I got everything accomplished, and all of my little critters looked so cute at our kindergarten promotion. I started off my summer vacation with a very quick trip up to San Luis Obispo for Alyssa's bridal shower and bachelorette party. After SLO, summer continued with the usual errands, grocery shopping, cleaning, and dog sitting....
I am tutoring over the summer, and in the mornings I go to Coronado. It has been so nice because I have seen Daniel a lot since I am not working. He came with me to Coronado, and we spent the afternoon having a picnic and walking around the gorgeous little island.
Since I have been going to the Little Italy Farmer's Market I have fallen in LOVE with these cute baskets. Well, I did some looking around and found one at Target for $10! It was perfect for our little lunch at the beach.
Delicious turkey and avocado wraps, berries, snap peas, and hummus...yummm! Plus, it was a gorgeous day outside.
I just had to add the cutest picture of Daniel with our niece, Calli. She is so precious and getting so big!

Rock n' Roll
Yesterday I accomplished one of my life goals...to run a half marathon. I was supposed to run one in March and ended up getting pretty sick right before, prohibiting me from racing. So, I automatically signed up for the Rock n' Roll Marathon here in San Diego. It is one of the funnest because it is huge, there are tons of people cheering you on a majority of the time, and there are bands along the race course too.
I started the morning off with some pre-race breakfast. Yummy whole grain english muffin with almond butter and sliced banana, and some yerba mate tea since it was 4:15am!
I was expecting to be miserable past mile 8, but I felt great the entire time! My friend Andrea ran the race together, and it was very motivating when I saw some familiar faces in the crowd. Daniel, Joey, and Colleen met us around mile 8 for to cheer us on!
I finished in 2 hours and 6 minutes which was a little bit slower than my goal time, but it was my first and I felt extremely proud of myself. Crossing the finish line brought on so many emotions, mainly success! I proved that if you really put your mind to something, you can accomplish it.
