can you crow?

I was never very athletic.  My parents put me in soccer with high hopes at the young age of 7.  I'm pretty sure I proved to them that they did not pass down any athletic abilities.  It wasn't until I was in college that fitness finally agreed with me.  I mainly run and do strength training with some occasional boot camps.  Lately I have  been fascinated with yoga.  It all started on Teacher Appreciation Day.  A parent at our school, who is an amazing yoga instructor, offered to teach a class to the teachers for free in the morning.  I couldn't pass it up because I knew she was a great instructor.  I was hooked after that one class!  This past week I challenged myself mentally and physically and attempted to postures, the crow and a headstand.  And can you believe it, I did them both!  Okay, so it wasn't like I popped right up but with a little help I was able to get into each posture.  Naturally, it took me several tries and I'm still working on my balance.  So if you come over randomly I just may be trying to stand on my head in the living room.  Accept it and love it!

Now, of course I had to somehow hurt myself in the process.  As I was doing the crow pose, my knees feel out over my arms and my right knee hit the floor pretty hard.  Hard enough for it to hurt all weekend and hard enough for me to feel slightly embarrassed that I got hurt doing yoga.

birthday boy

I know it's a little belated but..Happy Birthday to my wonderful and amazing husband!  This week has been crazy (only 7 more school days left!!!).

Daniel's birthday was on Monday and we celebrated in style in Vegas last weekend.  It was a total "boy" trip as we met up with four guys he went to college with.  The weekend was so much fun for my first time and the boys are already planning their next reunion trip.  I will be sure to blog about our trip this weekend, but wanted to sneak a couple pics in from our dinner to celebrate my love.

I am one lucky girl!  My husband is my world.  He is the most amazing man, and has the best sense of humor EVER!  I felt blessed to shower him with love because he deserves all of it.  Thank you babe for always loving me unconditionally, putting a smile on my face, knowing me better than I know myself at times, being so thoughtful and leading me.  God has truly blessed me with you!  Happy Birthday!

Happy June!!!

I still can't believe that today is the second day of June and school gets out in 18 days.  Just thinking about it gives me anxiety as I wrap my mind around everything I have to do.  I decided to cheer you all up with some random photos of the husband and I.  We did what we do best after going out to dinner...take silly and random pictures.  Reason #132 what I love my husband: his sense of humor is divine and can cheer anyone up!
Baby blue eyes..
Daniel's birthday is just a few days away so we are heading out to Vegas tonight to celebrate!  We're meeting up with a slew of his college friends, and it's my first time so I'm sure we will come back with lots of stories.
I hope June treats you well and you find laughter throughout your day!
