I stumbled upon this on Pinterest last week and it keeps popping up in my mind as little things have unraveled this week. It was as though it was just what I needed to pop up on my computer screen so that I could use it when bumps turn up.
For instance, this past weekend the cold that has been flirting with me for the past two weeks decided we were finally "dating" and has taken over my sinuses and throat. This happened right as my husband's car needed to go into the shop for some routine repairs. The car was supposed to be done at a certain time so that he could make it to work later that day. As we drove up his car was proudly sitting on top of the lift with no wheels. Lovely. Just as I was about to get upset this quote popped into my head and made me reanalyze my thoughts. Okay, so I had to make the best of the situation. I had to take him to and from work, reschedule my day, but you know what-it wasn't the end of the world.
When these little bumps (and sometimes big) come along it is a challenge, but it's crucial that we put it into perspective and make the best of it. As I was driving to work today a beautiful song was playing and one of the verses said "We were meant to love". We were. God made us so that we would love Him. Whether you're a Christian or not, we can't let the bumps in the road define us, turn our day around, make us moody, and decide that everyone else should be moody because you are. This is a lesson I'm still working on as unmet expectations is one of my downfalls. When things don't go my way or the way I expected them to be it can feel like the end of the world. God is really teaching me this week to make the best of the situations that pop up throughout the week, "roll with the punches", and put life into perspective. It's so silly when one to two weeks have passed by and what seemed to have been the worse day of our life was nothing more than just a little bump in the road.
I pray that you embrace these little bumps, too!
On other News from LaFuze, we have been very blessed this week!!!!
If you are close to us or know from the blog, my husband and I have opposite days off and schedules. I'm off on the weekends and he works all weekend long. For the past six years. We've done it.
It hasn't been fun but we have made it work, treasuring each little moment we have together. Well, we have been praying about this very hard for the past six months, asking God to continue to give us patience as we wait out for him to finally get a weekend day off. God answered our prayers and provided us with patience and understanding, and then he blessed us with the beautiful news that the Mr. will finally be getting Saturdays off!!!!
It was music to our ears and when he called me earlier this week to tell me I started jumping up and down all by myself in the living room. Yes!!!
Now all we talk over dinner is what we're going to do Saturday, because we have the whole day together :) And the next Saturday, and the next.

I LOVE THIS!!! :)
