I have been blessed to have had a friendship that has lasted what feels like a lifetime. Do you have those friends where they feel just like family? Andrea is one of those people that entered my life in middle school and I have help tight onto her ever since. The beauty of our friendship is how much we have seen each other grow and blossom into amazing women.
Andrea and I met back in middle school and became close friends in high school. We went to all of our dances together, spent countless hours in front of the mirror doing our hair and makeup, stayed up late talking about boys, studied like crazy for tests, and always seemed to make each other laugh no matter the situation. The first funny moment I remember is when Andrea purposely stalled her car in our high school parking lot just because she thought it would be funny. It stills makes me laugh how goofy we were.
When I decided to go away to college there was no better place to go than be with my best friend in San Luis Obispo. We were not only roommates but the closest of friends. We spent mornings making coffee (I may have made her an addict just like me) and talking over our bibles. I loved how much we kept each other accountable and encourage one another along the way. Andrea and I knew everything about one another. What we like, what we don't like, what the other should or shouldn't buy, you name it-we knew it!
After we graduated college we went on the trip of a lifetime to Costa Rica for two weeks. Then, sadly, our time together had to end. I moved back home to San Diego and Andrea stayed up in beautiful SLO. This is where God showed me how amazing our friendship was. As a girl, you long for that friend that knows you so intimately that they become a part of you, make you stronger, encourage you, and help you make decisions that are best for you. Far too often we listen to everyone else's opinions about what we should do. Andrea's ability to give me sound advice is a reflection of what I would tell myself.
We have laughed together, cried together, cried about each other, gone through ups and down, prayed over one another, pampered each other, and have seen one another go through beautiful life stages.
Andrea will always want to take a self-portrait, look through my closet when she comes over, ask where I got my new pair of shoes, ask me to do her hair, convince me to come over for a homemade latte, make the best blueberry muffins, and want to just relax and watch a chick flick.
The beautiful part of our lives is being part of one another's. Whether she helped me get through my big day...
Or I helped her get through hers...
We are truly friends for life!
